    Will hotel breakfasts soon be off the menu?

    If you’re eating out, breakfast has become the meeting opportunity you don’t want to miss. According to market research company The NPD Group, the recent emergence of key industry players and changing consumer habits have given the sector a great boost.

    However, the hotel sector is not cashing in on this dynamic.
    In recent years, we have seen a decreasing number of customers eating breakfast in their hotel.

    To reverse this trend, Bridor has launched a unique competition, in which entrants devise solutions to revitalise the appeal of hotel breakfasts.

  • Competition overview.

    Students, young designers and young interior stylists have already started producing their vision of an innovative breakfast offer, with designed settings to inspire guests to enjoy the “breakfast experience” in their hotel, rather than venturing elsewhere.
    The settings can be recreated in your hotel as a one-off event or more sustainably, over a longer period.


    The brief is to redesign the Buffet Breakfast area, which usually centres around 3 key elements: drinks/ sweet items/ savoury items.

    Current figures suggest around fifteen creative projects from students in Bordeaux, Caen, Lyon, Paris and Vannes are expected in response to this brand new competition.
